in 2017, after nearly twenty years in leadership, i found myself very sick and unable to work.

Chronic stress evolved into chronic illness, as it does for so many people. It took several years and a brilliant doctor for me to reclaim some of my health, but the result was a career burnt to the ground. With limited physical resources, I focused on how I could use my experience to help others avoid the same mistakes. Juniperus is the result.

I have a BS in exercise science and MS in exercise and health studies. I started my career as an exercise physiologist in cardiac/pulmonary rehab and eventually moved into administrative roles in healthcare then higher education and public health. More recently, I am a graduate of Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training program and am a certified Wayfinder Life Coach. In my work as a coach, I am deeply invested in supporting others on their journey to live as their truest, fullest self.

My guiding values are empathy, intuition, and curiousity. They infuse every aspect of my life. I’m a politically-engaged person supporting the liberation of black and brown people, LGBTQ folks, people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. I believe that each of us has the ability to effect meaningful change and I welcome conversations about how we can deepen our collective committment to action and liberation.

  • The Utah juniper is a tree native to the red rock, high desert of the western United States and juniperus is the genus name of this tree.

  • At first glance, the Utah juniper looks unremarkable. Half dead and scraggly, it appears rough and weather-worn.

  • That scraggliness hides a resilient, highly adaptable tree. It thrives in a harsh, unforgiving landscape that receives little rain and extreme heat in the summer.

  • During times of drought, the juniper will pull water from some branches to preserve the life of the tree itself, which is what creates the half-dead appearance.

  • It is resilience and adaptability personified in nature.
